Early on in my “no holds barred” diet, I never really looked at a vegan as some sort of fanatic, even though I felt “it wasn’t for me”, I respected their choice, even though I may have thought “vegan schmeegan”.
While contemplating the vegan diet later on, I tossed around a few variables of the diet, a “mostly vegan” approach really.
I slowly trimmed away animal products, basically eating very small portions, or seldomly eating any. I eventually narrowed it down to just allowing some fish, and eggs. Not bad, and a huge difference from consuming tons of cheese, milk products, and white meats like chicken and turkey.
But to be truthful, I first switched because of health benefits, because I was 50 lbs overweight, and had higher than normal blood pressure and cholesterol.
Later on, I took on the ethical aspect after doing some more research, and then, the environmental part.
I’ll talk more about my own personal change in a later post.
